Musculoskeletal Ultrasonography–MR Imaging Correlation: A Key Component for Best Practice
Ultrasonography and MR imaging are commonly used in musculoskeletal radiology to evaluate
bones, joints, ligaments, muscle-tendon units, nerves, and vessels. Each imaging modality
has advantages and limitations in various body parts and parts of musculoskeletal
radiology, whereas in some parts, either modality may be applied gainfully in a similar
fashion. Neither ultrasonography nor MR imaging uses ionizing radiation, making either
perfectly suitable for any age group or serial examinations.
