Dr. Arne Nystuen has more than 20 years of research and development experience in both academic and industry settings. He earned his doctorate in Genetics at the University of Iowa focusing on human disease gene identification for inherited neurological diseases. He performed his post-doctoral training at The Jackson Laboratory studying the molecular pathology of inherited cerebellar ataxias using the mouse as a model system. Dr. Nystuen established an independent laboratory at The University of Nebraska Medical Center, studying mechanisms of neuroprotection in the brain and retina. Currently, Dr. Nystuen serves as Director of Cellular Biology at Neurotech Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Nystuen has been involved in advancing products through multiple phases from research and development to approval.
