Paula I. Seoane is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Prof. David Brough’s lab at the University of Manchester, UK. Paula obtained her PhD in Bioscience from the University of Birmingham, UK, studying the interaction between macrophages and the pathogenic fungus Cryptococcus neoformans. She is now researching inflammasome activation in macrophages, being involved in different projects looking at cytokine secretion and inflammasome interactors. She is interested in how this supramolecular complex is assembled and activated in different disease contexts, and how this can be modulated therapeutically.
