Dr. Víctor Sánchez-Margalet is Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Seville Medical School and a specialist in Laboratory Medicine at Virgen Macarena University Hospital. He leads the Translational Research Group CTS-151 within PAIDI and is affiliated with the Research Institute IBIS. His work explores leptin's role in immunometabolism, reproduction, cancer immunology, and metabolic disorders. He has published over 200 papers, supervised more than 25 Ph.D. theses, and is among the top 2 % of scientists worldwide (Stanford 2024 list). He serves as Academic Editor for PLOS ONE, International Journal of Oncology, and is a Corresponding Member of the Spanish Royal National Academy of Medicine. He also chairs the Institutional Review Board at Virgen Macarena University Hospital, balancing research, teaching, and clinical service.
