Winnove MED, the designers and manufacturers of orthodontic retainers, has teamed up with packaging design company Burgopak for new product packaging which showcases their re-brand. The orthodontic retainers' new packaging needed to convey the premium nature of the product, protect them through the post and be quick and easy to fulfil.

Winnove MED selected Burgopak's Cabrio pack. There are two cavities in the tray, one for the upper mould and one for the lower mould and retainer. As no two rows of teeth are the same, the packaging needed to be carefully sized to accommodate the smallest and largest mould sizes that may be encountered.

The beams surrounding each cavity offer cushioning for protection. The cover letter and scan sit on top, filling the entire pack footprint. There is a separate mailer to protect the retainers through the post.

The patient's custom-made retainers are manufactured in France by robots, following a 3D scan of the patient's jaw, then shipped back to the dentist or orthodontist surgery and fitted to the patient.

This marks the first dentistry project for Burgopak since the launch of its Wellness division last year.

The packaging is made of 265 gsm Metsäboard Pro FBB Bright and an opening ribbon.
