AbstractObjective

To investigate the effect of meticulous nursing combined with humanistic care on disease-perceived stress and self-management efficacy in patients with pulmonary infection.

Methods

74 patients with pulmonary infection admitted to our hospital from March 2023 to February 2024 were randomly divided into the observation group (n = 37) and the control group (n = 37) using the randomized numeric table method.Afterward, disease-perceived stress, self-management efficacy, and psychological status were compared between the 2 groups pre- and post-interventio.

Results

After the intervention, the observation group exhibited lower scores of disease identity, disease acuteness, disease periodicity, emotional statement, and serious outcomes in the CIPQ-R and higher scores of disease correlation, personal control, and treatment control than the control group (P < 0.05).

Conclusion

Meticulous nursing combined with humanistic care can enhance improvements to the disease-perceived pressure and self-management efficacy in patients with pulmonary infection.
