On Tuesday, 8 Dhul-Qi'dah 1446 AH, Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University announced the official timeline for the upcoming elections of the Saudi Psychiatric Association. The elections are set to take place upon the university’s final approval, marking a significant milestone in the Association’s organizational development.
The nomination form for candidates wishing to run for the Association’s next Board of Directors has also been released. The deadline for submitting nominations is Tuesday, May 6, 2025 (18 Dhul-Qi'dah 1446 AH), allowing candidates three business days to apply as outlined in the published election schedule.
The Saudi Psychiatric Association is widely recognized as a leading body in its field, with active contributions from distinguished experts both within and outside the Kingdom.
Professor Fahad Ahmed Al-Harbi, Acting President of the University, emphasized the university’s strong support for professional associations due to their vital role in advancing scientific research and community service. He highlighted the Association’s extensive contributions through scientific courses, conferences, workshops, and the publication of peer-reviewed academic journals.
Professor Al-Harbi praised the launch of these elections, noting that it represents the university’s first experience in organizing such a process within this structured framework. He affirmed that the elections will be conducted with full transparency, ensuring fair representation of all members’ voices.
