2021–2022 ASPEN Physician Engagement Committee

The American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN) Physician Engagement Committee was created in 2017 by the ASPEN Board of Directors with the goal to grow the physician community both nationally and internationally within ASPEN. Its goals are to create a home for physicians within ASPEN; increase physician awareness of ASPEN activities/resources of value to physicians; expand involvement and interaction with the international physician community; develop specific educational programs targeted for physicians; promote collaborative writing of manuscripts among physicians in ASPEN on nutrition topics; engage physician organizations across medical/surgical specialties for collaboration on nutrition issues; and build awareness of our nutrition community through a physician directory and a series of physician spotlight interviews.

The ASPEN Physician Engagement Committee also develops two educational programs annually, a cutting-edge symposium at the Medical Practice Section forum during the ASPEN Nutrition Science & Practice Conference and an 8-h preconference course for local, national, and international physicians. Access to both program recordings is available to the public through the ASPEN eLearning Center.
